Sur la simulation numérique des écoulements de gaz à masse volumique variable - Application à la convection libre

In Rey et al CFM 2013, we highlighted some physical inconsistencies of the simplified system of equations used in the bibliography. The need of having a numerical model without restrictive approximations is pointed up, and we present a code (H. Barrios 2010) which has the advantage of providing more reliable results, because it is based on a coherent system of equations. We compare our results against the literature, in particular for evaluating the role of the viscous dissipation and the pressure work forces in the energy equation, in a 2D enclosed cavity with natural convection flow, heating from the vertical walls.
