The invention provides a dual drive steering mechanism used for a wire transmission steering system and belongs to the field of structural design of vehicle equipment. The mechanism comprises a two-way steering motor driving mechanism, a worm gear and worm speed reduction mechanism, a sensor unit and a fixing installing mechanism. The two-way steering motor driving mechanism is installed in a box body of the fixing installing mechanism and a worm at the tail end of the two-way steering motor driving mechanism is in matching transmission with a worm gear of the worm gear and worm speed reduction mechanism; the worm gear of the worm gear and worm speed reduction mechanism is connected with a pinion of the fixing installing mechanism in series through a transmission rod and the worm gear and worm speed reduction mechanism is installed in the box body of the fixing installing mechanism through shaft parts; the sensor unit is installed on a box body cover of the fixing installing mechanism; a spline of a transmission rod of the sensor unit is connected with a speed reduction mechanism transmission rod of the worm gear and worm speed reduction mechanism in series. Under normal working conditions, double motors are connected in parallel and coupled to drive the steering mechanism to operate; when one way of the steering motor driving mechanism breaks down, the other way can work continuously, so that the safety and the reliability of the steering operation are guaranteed.
