Enterprises face the challenge to design their processes in a rational way. This includes the reduction of physical loads in manual work, to name just one aspect. The German MTM Association (Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V., DMTMV) develops methods and defines standards that support work design. Not least because of the demographic change in industrialized countries methods that consider ergonomic aspects in addition to purely time-related viewpoints gain more and more importance. Therefore, human work design should be based on both ergonomic and time-related aspects.
