Baltimore rapid transit system under construction

Construction of the Baltimore Rapid Transit System began in early 1977 and will continue for 3 years. Data on the status of the numerous underground tunnels required for this project, the excavation methods, tunnel designs, and contract costs are presented. (LCL)
