A Pre-Processing Method for Video Compression Based on HVS

The goal of digital video compression is using fewer bytes to represent video stream,it also should keep the quality of compressed video well,and make it satisfy some applications.For video signal,human eyes are the final receivers,so video compression should consider the effect of human eyes subjective visual system.Before compression and transmission,we can take the advantage of the characters of HVS to preprocess original video sequences.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can improve compression ratio to a great extend without lossy of video subjective quality,and with same compression rate,the video subjective quality over pre-processing is obviously better than that of original compression.
