The anonymous writer of "Crisis in Canada," published in the December issue of MR, makes a gross error…. The author wrote: "On Saturday, October 17, Labor Minister Laporte was executed by the FLQ. The Trudeau government responded with the War Measures Act.... " (italics added) Six paragraphs before, the author wrote: "Last Friday the Liberal government of Prime Minister Trudeau passed the War Measures Act.... " (italics added ) You cannot respond to something that hasn't happened.
