Cryptophthalmos in Fraser Syndrome: a case report

2019
Cryptophthalmos is considered a rare anomaly. Cryptophthalmos describes eyes or an eye covered by continuous sheets of skin which can be complete, incomplete or abortive (congenital symblepharon). Crytophthalmos is found in some rare genetic syndromes that include the Fraser syndrome (cryptophthalmos syndrome) and Manitoba Oculotrichoanal (MOTA) syndrome. There is no reported sex or racial predilection. We report a case of congenital symblepharon (abortive cryptophthalmos) in a baby who had features of the Fraser syndrome.
