Deterministic channel modeling and performance of monopolarized and multipolarized MIMO wireless channels

2005
A novel approach of the deterministic channel models for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is presented in this paper. Monopolarized and multipolarized antennas are examined on a geometrical distribution of scatterers simplified for the diffusing waves. Thee geometrical models employed are defined in COST259. The proposed model takes into account the transmit antenna and receive antenna patterns, Doppler spectrum, dyadic coefficients and the polarization of antennas for the narrowband case in macrocells. Each scattering process is represented by a dyadic matrix corresponding to the depolarization and the distortion of the electromagnetic wave. Through simulations, the ergodic capacities and the outage capacities of monopolarization and multipolarization of 2 /spl times/ 2 MIMO channels are presented on the richness of scattering. The results of simulations show that the largest spread angle at the receiver is proved for the best capacity.
