Biatrial multifocal recurrence of sporadic left atrial myxoma

2015
Biatrial multifocal recurrence of a sporadic left atrial myxoma after wide excision is a rare event. The patient presented with recurrence of constitutional symptoms 8 years after the first surgery. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) established the diagnosis. Intra-operatively, multifocal recurrence was identified; all the lesions excised carefully including a segment of posterior left atrial (LA) wall.
