Preparing for Takeoff

2008
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the fifth-busiest airport in the world. It recently launched a full-body makeover of its Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). The $723.5 million renovation broke ground in February 2007, and is TBIT's first major upgrade since the terminal opened in time for the 1984 Olympics. The renovations, designed with energy efficiency and environmental friendliness in mind, should reduce congestion both curbside and in the airline check-in lobbies, thereby enhancing passenger safety. Boxes present information on the project team and project fast facts.
