2016
Presents an evaluation of whether impact assessments (IAs) used when designating marine conservation zones (MCZs) are capable of being a tool for balancing different options and also a reflexive process. Discusses the role of IAs in better regulation, the methodology of the study, involving two case studies from the fishing sector, and how the MCZ evidence is gathered, categorised and used. Considers the benefits and shortcomings of IAs.
