The impact of airborne emissions of nonferrous metallurgy smelters on the accumulation of nickel and copper in forest podzols

The accumulation of heavy metals (Ni and Cu) in Al-Fe-humus sandy podzols was investigated at three stationary plots subjected to various loads of airborne industrial emissions of nonferrous metallurgy smelters. The maximum accumulation of metals was found in the surficial organic horizon that performs the role of a biogeochemical barrier.
