Iao: The New Adaptive Optics Visible Imaging and Photometric System for AEOS

Abstract : The Iao camera is a totally new camera system that will be replacing the existing visible imager (VisIM) camera. It functions as the science camera, and is capable of collecting uncompensated, as well as adaptive-optics compensated images. Iao offers a number of improvements over the existing system, including higher speed, greater sensitivity, as well as improved flexibility in control of the imaging system. We describe the Iao camera system, the current state of progress, as well as the plans for integration of the new system into AEOS.
