A review of state-of-the-art in torque generation and control of floating vertical-axis wind turbines

2019
Large-scale floating vertical axis wind turbines have great potential for offshore applications. This paper will review the recent developments for generating torque and controlling vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) specifically for floating applications. The phenomena presented include dynamic stall and pitching of the blades, as well as design of airfoils for VAWT applications.Large-scale floating vertical axis wind turbines have great potential for offshore applications.
