The review of the investigations into the processes in the combustion zone of the blast furnace has been presented. It has been shown that in order to revise the mathematical models of the combustion zone, blast furnace hearth and blast furnace process on the whole the data on the amount of the liquid heat products flowing through the combustion zone of the blast furnace and on the share of the oxidation of the hot metal iron in them is necessary.
