Improved cast aluminum alloys with manganese, zinc and zirconium

Improved cast aluminum alloys are presented. The new cast aluminum alloys generally contain manganese, zinc and zirconium. In this regard, the new cast aluminum alloys generally contain from 2.0 to 5.0 wt% Mn, from 1.0 to 4.5 wt% Zn, and from 0.05 to 0.9 wt% Zr the remainder being aluminum, optional secondary elements, iron and silicon impurities and other elements, the new aluminum casting alloy containing no more than 0.15% by weight of the other elements, and the new aluminum casting alloy not exceeding 0.50 in total Wt .-% of the other elements.
