Electronic device and method for filtering notification information

In one embodiment, an electronic device that can be worn by a user uses one or more sensors to infer actions taken by said user. Said electronic device receives first notification information detected by an external device and filtering information that indicates action types for which notification of the first notification information should or should not be permitted. If an inferred action is of an action type for which notification of the first notification information is permitted, the electronic device executes a process for notifying the user of the first notification information.
