Physical Properties of Press-powders Prepared by Two Different Granulation Process

Aiming at the poor dispersity,homogeneity and flowability,as well as low compression ratio,of press-powders prepared by traditional dry granulation process for ceramic tile production,a new dry granulation process(NDGP) suitable for dry press forming was developed.In this paper,the granule morphology,size distribution,water content,density and flowability of the press-powders prepared by this new dry granulation process was investigated and compared with the properties of powders prepared by wet granulation process(WGP).It was proved that NDGP could prepare qualified press-powders for ceramic tiles manufacture.
