Mass-spectrometric analysis of the gas separation from highly siliceous fibrous heat-insulating materials

1986
We studied the composition and character of gas separation from highly siliceous heat insulating materials with an average fiber diameter of 6.3, 3.4, and 2.4 μm in the temperature region of from 20–25 to 1000°C. A reduction in the gas separation may be attained by creating in preparation, storage, transportation and the fitting of TIM, the necessary conditions for preventing the entry into the goods of moisture and especially organic substances, and also by carrying out special measures during the starting-up operations on the VTGR (high temperature gas cooled reactor).
