Track Trajectory Generation Method Using GNSS-based Simulation Platform for Maglev Trains

2019
Train localization plays an important role in automatic maglev train operation. The existing maglev train positioning methods are based on track-side sensors. The whole system costs a lot of money and is difficult to maintain. In contrast, GNSS-based train localization delivers train location only using train-borne sensors, which is easier to maintain. Currently, GNSS-based train localization unit has been an important application instance for safe train localization. The adoption of GNSS for maglev trains should also be analyzed. Currently, there are no maglev lines operating at 600km/h or higher, thus the simulation-based approach is the only option. This paper proposes a train trajectory generation method using GNSS-based simulation platform for Maglev trains. The train trajectory takes the track and train performance constrains into account, which can be used to analyze the GNSS performance in high speed combined with the simulated environment scenario offered by Spirent GSS8000 simulator. The results can provide evidence for the adoption of GNSS in high speed Maglev trains.
