Cancer in India

The cancer incidence in India has been rising in the last 20 years as in other developing countries. Not only the incidence, but also the pattern of cancer has also changed. The incidence of breast cancer is increasing and is likely to be the commonest cancer among females in India in near future. Changes in the lifestyle, food habits and increased life expectancy have contributed to this changing pattern. This chapter describes the current status of cancer incidence and prevalence in India.
