Resource Allocation using Power Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access

2020
Resource Allocation for multiple users using NOMA analyzed. In this work, Power Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (PD-NOMA) technique is analyzed. This technique aims to improve spectral efficiency, sum rate, user fairness compared to conventional Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA). The two user scenarios are analyzed, where one user is assumed to be at the centre of the cell and the other user is at the edge of the cell. As the users coexist in the same spectrum with different power levels, co-channel interference is inevitable. To mitigate this, an interference cancellation technique such as Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) technique is studied and analyzed. The results obtained are compared with OMA and it is observed NOMA outperforms OMA.
