The method comprises the steps that firstly, when it is detected that the electric water heater enters an appointment function mode, the current temperature of water in an inner container of the electric water heater is obtained; secondly, if the current temperature is smaller than the target temperature, a heating time quantum corresponding to the heating temperature rise rate is calculated; thirdly, whether a system clock is in the heating time quantum or not is judged; fourthly, if the system clock is in the heating time quantum corresponding to appointment water utilization time, the electric water heater is controlled to carry out heating; fifthly, when water is heated through the electric water heater to be at the preset temperature, the heating temperature rise rate is adjusted and updated; sixthly, the second step to the fifth step are executed repeatedly until the temperature of the water in the inner container of the electric water heater reaches the target temperature. According to the heating control method for the electric water heater, heating control can be carried out by automatically adapting to the volume specification of the electric water heater, appointed heating is more accurate, and the method is simple and easy to achieve.
