Evaluation of Power Efficient Hybrid Multicast Routing Protocol for MANET in Wireless Communications

A mobile ad hoc network is a rambling gathering of nodes, multi-hop and distributed wireless ad hoc network in which nodes are mobile in general, and hosts in such networks communicate with each other without the existing of fixed infrastructure and without central control. Routing is a critical issue in mobile ad hoc network. Here, the clustering method is used for adapting, which will be more energy efficient, clusters are made among the nodes as a shared self-leader system, and hence, every node will be a member of a few clusters and inside a cluster. Every node could arrive at any other node by significant power. Every cluster maintains head node that behaves like transmitting head for its nodes, for easy communication, cluster uses accessible bandwidth, and with that, clusters face energy or power utilization problems. In this work, we have proposed IP-ERMP to give power efficient multicasting for high mobility utilizations in the multi-source multicast environment, clustering also helps to overcome energy/power utilization problem, the main aim of intelligent multicast power efficient multicast routing protocol (IP-EMRP) is to overcome the drawbacks of proactive and reactive routing protocols so that to reduce the bandwidth and power problems to provide efficient communication in multicasting, simulation shows comparing new protocol with ZRP, DSR and AODV. We have simulated protocols by taking the number of nodes N = 50 in MATLAB software and obtained better results the network parameters in terms of throughput and packet delivery rate compared with existing ZRP and DSR protocols.
