1985
A case of osteoid osteoma in the 3rd lumbar vertebra is reported and previously published literature is veviewed. The patient was a 13-yars-old girl who had an 8-month history of low back pain and scoliosis. Roentgenographic studies showed a radiodense area with surrounding radiolucency in the left pars interarticularis of the 3rd lumbar vertebrae. Following diagnosis of primary bone tumor, surgical removal was performed. From microscopic study the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma was confirmed. After the operation she was relieved of symptoms immediately.
