A New Subspecies of Simocephalus latirostris

This paper records Simocephalus latirostris fujianensis ssp. nov., a new subspecies of Simocephalus ,Daphniidae,Cladocera of Fujian, China. This new subspecies differs from Simocephalus heilongjiangensis Shi et Shi 1994 in that the former's eye is not close to its headtop and its valves have a reticulated form,which are not quite clear.The new subspecies differs from Simocephalus latirostris Stingelin 1906 in that the length of the latter's antennule is equal to or shorter than its rostrum and the posterior mangin of its back is not protruding and there are no spines on it.
