A platform for simulation of railway network operation scheduling

The paper introduces a support platform for the simulation of a railway network's operation and scheduling. The platform, organized in a layered structure based on the distributed railway network provides an integrated environment for modeling, simulation and animated display of the railway facilities and train movement using object-oriented technology.
