El surco calcarenítico intraplataforma de Desamendi: origen y evolución (Aptiense inferior, Aralar-Navarra)

2005
The Sagastarri limestones from the Lower Aptian of Aralar Mountains (eastern Basque-Cantabrian region, northern Spain), mainly consist of rudist, coral and orbitolinid micrites (Urgonian facies). In Desamendi area, a calcarenitic lithosome 1 km wide and 172 m thick, within the Sagastarri unit, shows lateral changes to two platform micritic limestones, through indentation, with clinoforms up to 20 m in relief. Vertical section measurements reveal a local thickness increase from West to East. Calcarenites are interpreted to fill a sysedimentary trhrough created by local differences in subsidence rates.
