RESEARCH ON DYNAMIC CHANGES OF LAND USE IN LANZHOU CITY

Based on the detailed survey data and change data of land use from 1997 to 2005,the quantitative structure and spatial pattern of land use in Lanzhou City was analyzed by applying the GIS technology and some others quantitative geography models.The result indicated that:(1)there were obvious regional differences in the land use structure among the cities,which were determined by geographical locations,topography,economic levels,etc;(2)the structural diversity and composed types of land use decrease by degrees from the eastarea to the west area and from the south area to the north area;(3)analysis on the spatial pattern of land use,the fragmentation index of the industrial and residential land is the largest,grassland is the minimum.This shows that human activity and the degree of fragmentation have direct proportion.
