Influence of the elements of topography on the wind regime in Mladost District in Sofia

Utilization of the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program software version 3.1, worked out in the Riso National Laboratory, Denmark, the measured wind data in Sofia station were purify from the influence of the elements of topography. The climate wind data from 1953 till 1989 years were used, which were devided into four representative time periods: 1953-1962, 1962-1970, 1980-1989. A special program ANGL was made for distribution of the measured 16 wind directions in to 12 WAsP's sectors. Asa result of the influence of the obstacles the measured wind speed in Sofia station falls 22%, 16%, 22% and 36% correspondingly to the investigated time periods, mainly from the south direction which is accordance with the constructions of the Mladost-la district
