Catheter for the combined study of the left ventricle and the right and left coronary arteries

1999
The invention relates to a multi-lumen catheter (1) and to a device for perfusing X-ray contrast media or pharmacologically effective substances with which X-ray contrast media or pharmacologically effective substances can be introduced into the left cardiac chamber, the coronary arteries and into other exits of the aorta without changing the catheter. This results in a reduction of the stress to which the patient is subjected, in particular during angiographic examinations, by distinctly reducing the duration of the examination, the exposure to radiation, the risk of examination-related disturbances of cardiac rhythm, and cardiac infarctions as well as the risk of infection.
