A Wide Band Stripline Directional Coupler

ABSTRACTA printed stripline directional coupler operating over a 3:1 bandwidth is developed. The coupler exhibits a fairly uniform coupling over the band of operation. The directivity is consistently greater than 25 db. It is shown that it is possible to use less than quarter wavelength, coupled sections to obtain a uniform coupling, high-directivity coupler. This result may find wide applications in UHF/L-band directional couplers.
