Application of protective body restraint nursing intervention in emergency department

2020
Objective To explore the application of protective body restraint nursing intervention in emergency department. Methods A total of 500 patients admitted to the emergency department from February 2017 to February 2018 were selected as the subjects of the study. The patients were divided into observation group and control group with 250 cases each according to the random number table method. The control group adopted routine nursing intervention, and the observation group was given protective body restraint nursing intervention on the basis of the control group. The incidence of complications in patients was evaluated, the hospital transfer time and nursing quality score of patients were selected as evaluation indexes, and the incidence of medical disputes and anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) scores of the two groups of patients after intervention were compared. Results After nursing intervention, the complication rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After intervention, the hospital transfer time in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group, and the nursing quality score was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After intervention, the incidence of medical disputes and SAS score in the observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusions Protective body restraint nursing intervention can effectively prevent the complications of emergency department patients, improve the hospital transport efficiency and quality of care, but it will cause certain physical and psychological harm to patients, nursing staffs should be standardized use.
