Rheological properties of lyotropic liquid crystals of nonionic surfactants.

The rheological properties of lyotropic liquid crystals are closely related to their applications in industrial area.The performance of nonionic surfactants is superior to ionic surfactants in many respects,such as less toxicity and hemolysis,compatible with most drugs,therefore the application of nonionic surfactants in the pharmaceutical industry is more prominent.In this paper,combining with our work,the latest progress in the rheological properties of lyotropic liquid crystals is introduced systematically,including the lamellar,hexagonal and cubic liquid crystals formed in nonionic surfactant systems.
