Alternative Splicing and Tissue Repairing

It is known that gene expresion in cells is influenced by mechanical factors.The production of growth factorsmay play a ctiticM role when the injured tissues and cells are repairing.Mechano growth factor (MGF)is produced by alternative splicing of IGF-I gene.It has played its particular role in tissue repairing.We have little knowledge about gene expression regulated by mechanicl signals.Understanding the process of splicing in IGF-I helps us to investigate the mechanotransduction of cells in response to mechanical stimulation and its gene regulation at molecular level.
