A case of deformation of the vertebral column in an adult female of the 20th century AD

During the study of a sample of individuals from Sardinia (Italy), we have found an interesting case of severe scoliosis of the spine. It was a female of 33 years old who presented a double lateral curvature of the spine with rotation of the vertebrae and the spinous processes. The curvature was more serious in the thorcacic region and was associated with the fusion of a few thoracic vertebrae; moreover we noticed the ankylosis of the sacro-iliac joint on the right side of the sacral area.
