Biological Activity of Placental Protein 14

1988
During human pregnancy a variety of proteins are present in the circulation which are either exclusive to the pregnant state or at elevated concentrations compared with levels in non-pregnant women. Many of those proteins are of placental origin, some being secreted by the deciduum. The physiological roles of most are not understood, although there is an increasing body of knowledge accumulating in this area.
