Australia's climate change mitigation policy towards the Paris Agreement

2020
In the world, member states are moving toward the Paris Agreement's 2050target. InAustralia, a resource-rich country, natural disasters (eg, wildfires, floods, droughts, etc.) have become increasingly serious in recent years, and public interest in nationalclimate change policies has increased. Australia, on the other hand, has the secondhighest per capita CO2 emissions in the world after the United States and is a majorexporter of coal and liquid natural gas (LNG), and its domestic electricity supplydepends heavily on cheap fossil fuels. As a result, the country has a politicalbackground in which drastic reduction of greenhouse gases cannot be said to bestraightforward. In this article, we have discussed Australia's approach to climatechange legislation and its challenges to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
