A Study on the Integrated Regeneration Project for Local Small Cities through an Analysis of the Change Patterns in the Neighboring Revitalization Plan

This study is intended to draw some tasks after comprehending the problems to many urban regeneration projects during the implementation procedures in our country and to seek for some alternative schemes from the perspective of the comprehensive urban regeneration projects. This study was implemented through an analysis of the change patterns in the regeneration plans, approved plans and changed plans of 6 local small cities as the urban regeneration lead areas. In order to be integrated approach, there are suggested the following kinds of improvement proposals at a higher level. First, Create base facilities by using public unused spaces and by driving regeneration projects for private old houses and empty stores at the same time. Second, Enhance the business feasibility of a facility project by complicating the functions and by making many experts participate in the project. Third, Invest from a long-term perspective for establishing some administration specialty organizations and an urban regeneration support center. Fourth, Drive a competency strengthening project focusing on some professional education for each area and to induce many external manpower to participate compositively for strengthening the professionalism of each resident organization. Fifth, Improving the system at a higher level in order for a regeneration project to be able to be adjusted as a cooperative project.
