Simulation Model of a GMR based Current Sensor

The paper presents a Pspice electrical model of a current sensor based on the giant magnetoresistance effect. The novelty of the proposed model consists in the addition of nonelectrical parameters that influence the correct measurement of current. By using these parameters, it is possible to perform tests by simulating the behaviour of the sensor at different distances from the current trace and different positions of the current trace (current path placed on the top layer or on the bottom layer of the PCB). Also, the simulation of the current sensor model behaviour take into consideration different standard FR4 PCB thicknesses used in the manufacture process.
