Clinical diagnosis and treatment of extraovarian peritoneal serous papillary carcinoma

Objective:To investigate the clinical diagnosis and treatment of extraovarian peritoneal serous papillary carcinoma (EPSPC).Methods:Nine cases of EPSPC confirmed by pathologic examination and treated in our hospital from Jan. 1989 to Mar. 2003 were analyzed retrospectively.Results:All patients with EPSPC were given cytoreductive surgery followed by systemic chemotherapy of PC or PAC regimen for 8 courses.Of all patients,4 were not followed up, 3 patients died, one patient was the second month after operation, and one patients disease-free survival time reached 4 years.Conclusion:According to the case history, clinical manifestation and associated examination, pre-operation diagnosis might be possible, and the prognosis may be improved by cytoreductive surgery and adjuvent chemotherapy.
