Preliminary Study on Producing Mycelium and Extracellular Polysaccharide in Submerged Fermentation of Agaricus blazei Murill

2007
[Objective]The aim of the research was to study the submerged fermentation technique and screen out the medium with optimum carbon and nitrogen sources for submerged fermentation of Agaricus blazei Murill.[Method]Liquid submerged medium of A.blazei were studied, the optimum carbon and nitrogen sources for the fermentation of A.blazei were screened out and the effects of the optimum carbon and nitrogen sources with different concentrations on the mycelium and extracellular polysaccharide of A.blazei were studied.[Result]The optimum carbon source for the growth of strain and the production of extracellular polysaccharide of A.blazei was glucose and its optimum concentration was 30 g/L.The optimum nitrogen source was a combination of peptone and yeast extract and the optimum combination concentration was 7 g/L peptone + 7 g/L yeast extract, under which the dry weight and extracellular polysaccharide of A.blazei thalli both reached maximum, being 8.7 g/L and 281 mg/L respectively.[Conclusion]The research provided references for further culture in large scale of A.blazei.
