Обоснование применения мягких контактных линз, насыщенных антибиотиками в периоперационной профилактике внутриглазных инфекций

2008
A possibility of application soft contact lenses saturated with antibiotics for perioperative prophylaxis of intraocular infections has been shown. Different soft contact lenses: SCL 38, SCL 55 and SCL 70 were examined. The lenses were saturated with antibiotics cephalosporines and fluoroquinolones. Antibiotic sorption by soft contact lenses and release of the drugs out of the lenses were studied with spectrophotometric method. Concentration of antibiotics in aqueous humor was defined with microbiological method. 84 patients received antibiotics by means of therapeutic soft contact lenses (one hour prior to surgery). Optimum antibiotic soft contact lenses combinations providing maximal drugs sorption are revealed. They are as follows: cephalosporines lenses SCL 55 or SCL 70, fluoroquinolones lenses SCL 38. Other factors defining antibiotic sorption are lens weight of a lens and antibiotic solution concentration. It is shown that fluoroquinolones ofloxacin and levofloxacin are characterized by the best antibiotic penetration into aqueous humor and produce therapeutic concentration in it. Other studied antibiotics such as cefotaxime and cefuroxime produce only minimal inhibitory concentration.
