Gel chromatography and analytical ultracentrifugation applied to quantitation of components of IgG preparations: a comparative study.

1982
A standardized gel chromatography procedure for application to quality control of IgG preparations for therapeutic use is described. The results obtained show that gel chromatography can be successfully used for quantitation of the different molecular forms of IgG preparations. Comparison between gel chromatography and ultracentrifugal analysis is in favour of the former technique. The results of this study also make possible a preliminary proposal of limits for different components of IgG preparations, as detected by gel chromatography.
