Overview of Active Equalization Topologies for Series Connected Batteries

Active equalization technology is currently a research hotspot in the energy balancing technology for power series storage systems which has various topological structures and diversified functions. Centralized and distributed balancing topologies were analyzed based on the equilibrium efficiency, speed and system complexity, and their suitable applications were discussed. The unsolved issues in the research of series-connected batteries were summarized and the development trend of series-connected batteries in the future was givens.
