The present invention discloses a method of preparing a carbon fluorescent quantum dots A laser irradiation, wherein: benzene, substituted benzene or benzene ring compound is one kind of carbon source in a liquid state within the ultraviolet light wavelength 380nm or the carbon source of carbon in the solid state by the irradiation of carbon dissolved in ethanol obtained in 1 to 120 minutes, to obtain a carbon fluorescent quantum dots. Its sole carbon source solution, carbon source used in the present invention diverse selection, laser power and irradiation time of the preparation process using good controllability can be carried out at room temperature, the carbon particle diameter of the obtained quantum dot in 2 ~ 7nm , graphite having a regular crystal structure, the results show that the method of preparing carbon quantum dots without surface modification, i.e., exhibits fluorescence characteristics of photoluminescence.
