Improved FDTD method around dielectric and PEC interfaces using RBF-FD techniques
2018
A high-order, radial basis function-generated finite difference (RBF-FD) method is prepared for simulation of electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation near dielectric and perfectly conducting (PEC) interfaces. The method uses piecewise polynomial support along with RBFs to form explicit, FDTD-like updating equations that uphold high-order accuracy even when applied across a dielectric interface or near a PEC boundary. The method is tested on two 2D problems involving EM wave propagation around PEC and dielectric cylinders.
