Cost Of Illness Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tanpa Komplikasi: Systematic Review

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin disorders, bad insulin action or both. Therefore, diabetes mellitus patient spends significant cost because this therapy lasts for the patient whole life. The purpose of this research was to find out cost of illness on diabetes mellitus patient and the last date the article searched was 10th of August 2020. The database used is PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus and EBSCOHost with inclusion criteria are studies related to cost of illness and economic burden with the study subject being diabetics without complications and showing cost-related results. The exclusion criteria applied in this study were articles in languages other than English, similar articles about systematic review, conference abstract, case report, editorials, and letter’s to editor. Result showed that the total cost incurred by diabetes mellitus patients during therapy ranged from $438.5 with hospital perspective to $846.7 with societal perspective per patient per year with total direct cost ranged from $327.3 to $781.7 and total indirect cost ranged from $53.5 to $438.8.
