Investigating the impact of increased employee motivation on organizational performance. A study project of some selected SMEs in Europe

The aim of this project is to investigate the impact of increasing employee motivation in SMEs in Europe on their organizational performance. Two companies were chosen to fulfil the project objective, from Czechia and Latvia. Although the field of study for this project is narrow, it will give a guideline for future researches about motivation, especially in SMEs where each employee behavior can make difference. The theoretical part starts with a definition of motivation, then it goes with a summary of some of the most popular theories of employee motivation. The second part contains an analysis of data collected from answers of questionnaires and interview questions that were given to employees and managers in the researched companies. At the end there is a list of recommendation as well as the necessary logistical analysis of time, cost and risk of the study project.
