Switched Reluctance Drive of Draglines ESH 20.90 Main Machinery

The necessity for modernization of the existing walking dragline excavators with a “generator-motor” system type is proven. The use of a switched reluctance drive (SRD) is reasonable for this purpose. The article shows SRD components composition and characteristics: switched reluctance motor (SRM), converter equipment and automated control systems (ACS) mounted on the modernized excavator ESH 20.90 No.44. The trial operation results show that, providing it is a normal work regime, the energy consumption is significantly reduced and harmonic distortion of sinusoidal line voltage is within the restrictions of GOST 32144–2013).
